Learn Qigong for the colder seasons. Winter is the season of the Water element in Chinese Medicine; Through the "water" phase of Qi we supplement the body with youthfulness, vitality, and willpower. Curious to try Qigong or interested in going deeper? This day of experiencing and practice will take you on a journey into life force energy, or Qi, that will provide insight and positive transformation.
I have developed this one-day course to prepare you to use Blue Turtle Qigong to transition from the warmth of late summer and early autumn to the colder seasons of late autumn and winter.
The "Blue Turtle" is related to Winter and water energy. The ears are the "windows" of the kidneys, related to the hearing and the colour is blue.
We are part of nature. When the energy changes in nature it changes within us as well. If we wish to be naturally healthy, stay in harmony with seasonal changes. Qigong for the Seasons is based on the teaching of the "Five Elements," an enjoyable journey to health and well-being all year round.
Winter Qigong focuses on kidney health, jing preservation, and cultivation of wisdom. This is the season to nourish the essence of body and mind: bones, spinal nerves, brain, and mind. You will learn e.g. kidney exercises, bone marrow cleansing, and the Turtle and Water Buffalo.
It's a magical time, one in which we can turn our attention inward and attend to our letting go.
The "Healing Breath" is also known as “Bone Marrow Breathing”. It is the perfect complement to the energising movements of “Blue Turtle” Qigong. This ancient Taoist practice leads to deep inner relaxation, which is revitalising and can help improve bone density. You also can do this exercise lying down.
This Qigong is suitable for both beginners and existing practitioners. No previous knowledge is required.
I recommend signing up for the Taoyin course on Saturday as well.
This seminar includes morning/ afternoon tea breaks and a lunch break.
Herbal tea in the breaks is included in the tuition fee.
